It was another gorgeous day in Limerick. It has been rain free for about a week now and the temperatures have been in the mid and high 60's. I spent the morning at the computer and then took a walk onto campus and headed to the bookstore. I think I mentioned before that I have been doing a lot of reading for pleasure. I had finished a volume of short stories by American author Kate Chopin and today I picked up a volume of plays by Oscar Wilde. I am totally enjoying reading all these classics. Each day the University bookstore's collection of literary works expands as they put out more and more volumes for classes. I am taking advantage of this and reading works I have never read before.
Tomorrow afternoon I am going to attend a session with my room mate, Angela, on studying techniques and research writing. It has been a long time since I have had to write a paper and provide sources and bibliography. I am looking forward to the refresher course. On Saturday the International Studies office is offering a trip to nearby Bunratty Castle and village. I have not been there for forty years and that was for a medieval banquet the last night of a six week trip through the British Isles after graduation from Ithaca.Angela is also coming and on Sunday we will take a train to Dublin for the day. I am really looking forward to that.
Angela and I spent this evening walking along the river and then sharing a pot of tea in our apartment. We seem to have a great deal to talk about. I feel as if I have known her for a long time. I think we will be good companions over the coming months.
So this is all I have to tell you about today. It is past 11:00 p.m. and time to sleep. Sending love.
