I am also very much looking forward to two workshops planned at Transfiguratigon Monastery, a lovely Benedictine community in Windsor, New York. In Windsor, on April 18, I will conduct a day of Deep Peace, cultivating inner peace from chants and meditation, informed by the perspectives of world traditions. And on May 16, along with Sr. Sheila, we will spend a day with participants exploring our Ageless Spirits.
At the end of May I head to Brisbane, Australia to collaborate with Wendy Murray, jazz singer, and teacher of chant and yoga. We have planned a number of workshops and a sacred chant concert. I am very excited.
And I am equally excited to be returning to Ireland and my beloved Glenstal Abbey to hold chant days and weekends and the third annual writer's retreat in early July.
Dates and details follow. There is a long post, so please scroll through and check back often for updates.
If you would like a flyer of any workshops or have any questions email me at chantingmeditation@yahoo.com.

People have sung to their babies forever. Every culture has chants and lullabies that are passed down through the generations. New ones are written and shared, and the custom goes on—a rich part of the fabric of human civilization. In this special workshop for expecting mothers, we will learn about the benefits of chanting and meditation and sing chants from world traditions that focus on love. And finally, together, in a group process we will create a new and special chant that participants can sing to their babies now and following birth.

Summer Writers’ Retreat at Glenstal Abbey for aspiring and seasonsed writers with Marsha Eger (chantingmeditation@yahoo.com) and Eva O Callaghan (eocalla@gmail.com)
Four
days at Glenstal Abbey devoted solely to nurturing your writing in a supportive
environment.
This third annual writers’ retreat is for
aspiring and seasoned writers alike and is devoted this year to finding entry
into personal creativity through mindfulness and other spiritual and
inspirational practices. This is not a nuts
and bolts writing course, but rather a writers’ retreat; an opportunity to be
immersed in the spiritual environment and rhythm of Glenstal Abbey, and draw
inspiration from the facilitators, lecturers and other participants. We will
engage in writing exercises across a wide variety of genres and look at ways of
entering the creative space such as using chant and meditation, walks in the
woods, movement, readings and of course the rhythm of Glenstal. An evening session
of chanting meditation will be offered for anyone wishing to participate and a
special wine and cheese evening in the guesthouse living room will provide
special time for reading aloud, sharing your own work or the work of someone
who inspires you.
This writing retreat, given by certified writing
facilitator, Eva O Callaghan and Marsha Eger, poet and international teacher of
chanting meditation, is an opportunity to connect with your creative processes,
allow them their space and see what emerges.
The retreat will also include a special welcome by (Abbot Mark Patrick
Hederman) and a special poetry reading with guest poet,
The cost for the retreat is E225 .

11 July – Joyous Expression: A chanting meditation workshop with Marsha Eger
This workshop is about the joy of chanting and
its power to connect us with our authentic selves. Singing is our essential
expression. As babies we cooed and babbled and as toddlers we sang
spontaneously, expressing our actions and feelings through our songs. Over the
years most of us have forgotten or lost this ability, but it is something that
resides deeply within each of us. In this workshop, in a safe space, we
will explore our voices and begin to recapture the pure joy of our essential
expression. Using a variety of sounds, toning, chants from world traditions,
poetry and more, participants will have an opportunity to explore their voices
and their hearts.
No
special singing ability or experience with meditation required.

Glenstal Abbey, Murroe, Co. Limerick

17-19 July Mindful Heart:Exploring and Expanding the
Qualities of Our Heart through chanting meditation, a weekend workshop with Marsha
Eger (chantingmeditation@yahoo.com)
We
are taught to live mindfully, but what about “heart-fully”? What good is
mindfulness if it is not deeply connected to our heart and what good is
following our hearts unless we do so in a conscious way? Should not all
mindfulness have as its underlying paradigm, heart-fullness?
In
this weekend workshop we will explore more deeply the qualities of the heart.
Using heart chants from world traditions, meditation, poetry, prose, discussion
and more, we will explore and our compassion, kind and loving hearts as a
driver and a measure for our actions and decisions and our way of being in the
world.
