Meditation of Gratitude

There is a sudden freshening of the air.
I feel the coolness gently caress my shoulder
as I sit in deep meditation in this early hour,
listening to the sweet cacophony
of awakening birds.

As I arise the world around me stretches,
yawns, and lifts its voice in song,
in gratitude for a new day, a new sun,
a new moment, a new beginning,
a new opportunity to love.

Many thanks to you, Marsha for coming into my world! We have known each other for 37 years and have shared so much together.
I especially thank you for sharing your dad with me. His wisdom, kindness, humor and love shine on in you. Your poem today bears witness to your resolve to move forward with the gifts he has given you.
Be at Peace my dear friend.
